About us ...

The Institute of Integrative Neuroanatomy is one of the three Institutes at the  Center of Anatomy and belongs to Charité Centrum 2 (CC2): basic medicine.

The Institute has an active research program focusing on the structure and function of the brain at multiple levels, from the molecular composition of synapses to neuronal networks in an integrative manner.  The institute is closely associated with collaborative research programs in Berlin, the Opens external link in current windowNeuroCure Cluster of Excellence, Opens external link in current windowSFB 958 "Scaffolding of Membranes - Molecular Mechanisms and Cellular Functions", the Graduate College Opens external link in current windowGRC 1123 “Cellular Mechanisms of Learning and Memory Consolidation in the Hippocampal Formation”.

The teaching activities in the institute cover macroscopic and microscopic anatomy of the human body with a focus on brain. We are involved in undersgraduate study programs of the Charite, the new ‘Modelstudiengang’ for Human Medicine; Zahnmedizin and BA program in Health.
